What is protein?

Protein is one of three main classes of food. Proteins are made of amino acids, which function as a cell’s “building blocks.” Cells need protein to grow and to mend themselves. Protein is found in many foods, like meat, fish, poultry, eggs, legumes, and dairy products.

Where are proteins found? Protein is found throughout the body—in muscle, bone, skinhair, and virtually every other body part or tissue. It makes up the enzymes that power many chemical reactions and the hemoglobin that carries oxygen in your blood.

What kind of food is protein? All foods made from meat, poultry, seafood, beans and peas,eggs, processed soy products, nuts, and seeds are considered part of the Protein Foods Group. Beans and peas are also part of the Vegetable Group.

I have spent hours researching protein for you and they all give mixed examples of how much protein we need daily, I have learnt that we do not make protein naturally, so using the link here have a read through when you have time, I have found this site to be the easiest to understand, I have to admit, the protein research to simplify for you was the toughest lol.
