Growing veggies in Tubs. Happy Tuesday

Good morning to you all.

Day 2 of the new week and it’s looking glorious out there, even though there is still a nip in the air at the moment, It is going to warm up later.

But will it be warm enough to don a 2 piece? probably, but I don’t think I will subject my neighbours to that just yet ha ha, I mean come on who wants to see my belly jiggling like a pot of jelly lol.

I have a few more seeds to plant today, it has been difficult to get them this year, I’m guessing that everyone is having a go at growing your own veg, maybe because they have time on there hands or that people are frightened that we may not be able to get fresh food, there have been a few regular veg that im struggling to get but why not use this opportunity to try new veg something you would usually buy or have been reluctant to try, this is the perfect time to tickle your taste buds.

Growing your own herbs and vegetables is really easy, have you got a few potatoes or onions in your cupboard that are starting to sprout, don’t throw them away if you have the space in your garden just put them in the ground and in a couple of months you will have a lovely crop of tatties, alternatively put them into a large tub they will still grow and keep growing, I usually get a harvest around summer and then again at christmas, of the potatoes, I didn’t have a large tub to start with so after giving my daughters toy box a good clear out I had a spare toy tub and just used that, they really will grow anywhere.

No garden? don’t worry everything will easily grow in tubs, I have onions in window tubs and other veggies I grow in tubs, you really can grow them anywhere, all of last years were grown in tubs except a few that I grew in the greenhouse, I have a small one at the bottom of my garden, my garden is all paved over hence I began growing in tubs last year, and it was so easy, so please give it a go.

Seeds are that are starting to come to life at the moment are:

  • Carrots
  • Spinach
  • 2 Varieties of Tomatoes
  • Peppers
  • Potatoes
  • Mint
  • Coriander
  • Rosemary
  • Tarragon
  • Rhubarb
  • Origano

Seeds to plant today are:

  • Cucumbers
  • Aubergines
  • Thyme
  • Basil
  • Radishes.

So my goodmorning message turned into a veggie message lol, but please do have a go at growing your own, the taste is so much better as your eating straight from being picked, and the seeds are really cheap to buy, the last 5 I mentioned were only 5 packs for £1.00 so in the end you will save money.

Well my wonderful peeps, Im off to wash some laundry and will probably go back to bed for a bit soon, I had to be up early to take in a delivery,at least it will be nice and warm when I awake, I’m hoping to get out for a bit of a walk today if not I’ll jump on the Wii and have a little play.

Have an awesome tuesday and I will chat to you later with my food diary. XOXOXO
